How UNIFY Works

Two players go into UNIFY with a disagreement, and the app takes turns asking the players rounds of questions. (Each round takes about 10 minutes.) This happens for about 15-30 question rounds. (About the length of a to-the-point late-night philosophical convo 🤔 Don't worry, you can always save your game and come back later if you need to!)

After the 15-30 rounds, one person ends up saying something that causes the other player to change their mind on the original topic. And then both players agree!! (You earn $5,000 if you go 100 rounds without this happening.)

So think of this example: let's say you have a roommate. Normally you get up at 7am to get ready for work. But today you got up at 8am, and you were still getting ready at your normal pace.

So your roommate says, "You should be rushing around!" and you give a quizzical look and reply, "No, I don't have to rush around." That is your disagreement:

Roommate: "You need to be rushing around to get to work on time!"
You: "I do NOT need to be rushing around to get to work on time."

Well in this case, your roommate knows something that you don't. They know it's 8am, and you think it's 7am. So as soon as they realize this is the problem, they will show you it's 8am by showing you a clock or two ⏰, and then this will change your mind and get you to agree that you need to be rushing around!

That is how virtually all disagreements work: one person knows something that the other doesn't (and usually the other person believes something false), and there's a game-changing piece of knowledge swimming around somewhere in the mind of the person who is right. That knowledge nugget would change the wrong person's mind on the topic. In our case, that game-changer was simply, "Look at the clock! It's 8am!" But this one was easy to find! We got lucky. It's not always that easy. And for this reason, many harder disagreements don't get solved because that game-changer is harder to put our finger on. And if we never find and demonstrate that game-changing piece of knowledge, the person who is right will never be able to show the wrong person that they're wrong!

But UNIFY is designed to help you find the right thing to say and do to show the other person that they're wrong. But really, it doesn't matter who's right or wrong. It's about finding the truth together ❤️

That is the basics of how UNIFY works. So you can start to agree with everyone on topics like:

"People should/shouldn't get the COVID vaccine."
"COVID is/isn't a hoax."
"Climate Change is/isn't really happening."
"Electronic music is/isn't AWESOME."
"The US election was/wasn't stolen."

And if you're feelin' some skepticism at this point still, or some curiosity, then be sure to view the detailed explanation here that specifies the inner workings of the science behind UNIFY.
